“The world is here”, those were the words told to me by the NYC cab driver that drove me to my hotel. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from someone just by saying hello. He shared with me his story of driving Tom Cruise two blocks and getting a 50.00 tip, and how he’s saving money to bring his son from Africa. He said that a simply “thank you” can go very far here in NY. He said everyone is always stressed and on the run in NYC…yeah..didn’t notice that. LOL.
This time around in NYC was very cool. I ran into some friends/family I have not seen since 1994. They took me to the Bronx where we chilled and talked about “religion, life, life and life…and where is God is all of this… and they cooked some AMAZING Dominican food… for me. It was the bomb grub! No lie. After catching up 14 yrs we hit a pool hall and chilled some more. My buddy is a top notch stock broker in Wall Street. He gave me his 411 on the future fall of this country and China rising up. Very interesting though…When we talked stocks he mentioned a few things that stuck out to me. I asked him about the risks of investing into stock, he said, “There is always a risk, but the greatest risk is not risking at all”. That applied to me on so many different levels. Albert Einstein defines “insanity” as doing the same thing and expecting the same result. How can we expect a huge return if there is not first a huge investment. How can you get a cake of you are baking cookies. It is a basic element and an elementary formula. He also mentioned about how he enjoys reading alot and how everyone should. When you read a book you step into another prospective, another life. When you don’t, life becomes boring because all you know is YOU. I was really encouraged on so many different levels this weekend.
The journey coaching network was awesome. It is totally pushing me as a leader, a husband, a father and a friend. In order to lead there must be trust. A few of the major points from the session are below.
Personal development: Act of commitment to my own growth, for the betterment of myself, my family, my team and my church.
Every challenge begins with a personal challenge.
Challenges are the tools in making us who we should become in order to accomplish more of what God has.
1. Intentional
• In order for God to do more, I must become more.
• Decision to grow
2. Investment
• everything costs. Time, money,
• quality before quantity
3. Increase
• as you increase, your capacity will increase
• as God stretches us, more comes to us, capable of more
• Intuition increases
4. Intrinsic
• becomes a part of who you are
• You see everything as an opportunity to grow
• You see moments of growth everyday
• Turn frustration into fascination
5. Inviting
• It is not just for you and I
• Add value to my job and everyone around me
• When God does something in us, we have to invite others to know that and experience it as well
• I don’t know anything until I can show someone else…
• Natural invitation that comes with growth
Lord, lead me to be the person I need to be, in order to lead my family and my church into the future.
•
• Personal development is contagious, people see that you are excelling in what you are doing.
• You attract what you reflect “we will never attract someone more than you”. As we grow so does our ability.

I love it…glad you had a great day. My favorite takeaway from your notes? “I don’t know anything until I can show someone else.” Welcome back…in a bit.
